HELP!!!!

Sorry Guys, but it definitely was not either sparrow (it was a little bigger than a sparrow) [I had one suggestion of a LeConte's or Nelson's Sharp-tailed] and it really wasn't a robin.   It wasn't a light orange.  It was a clear bright orange. However, I just happened to think I may have forgotten to mention that the bird had an orange spot on the back of the head.. Solid brown head except for the orange spot.  But thanks for trying.

I live in Wichita Falls and the city park I found it in is just north of Lake Wichita-level, mowed grass  and small trees scattered throughout the park.  My first look at it was a glimpse of orange as it flew into a tree, maybe 6 or 7 feet tall. It flew out and landed on the top of a three foot cyclone fence. That orange was beautiful!  A mockingbird buzzed it and it hopped down about midway in the fence. It sat there a minute and then flew across the road and landed on a post with his back to me.  And then it sang.  It was a different sound.  The voice was deep and throaty(?) as he sang.  He did his song and flew into an evergreen tree. I never saw it again.  The post he was on was about 2 feet high. The weather was calm and sunny.  If that helps.

Here's the description of the bird I saw in a park close to a lake: Little bigger than sparrow, brown back and head, black tail longish, white throat AND orange (not rusty nor red) breast and belly.  There were very tiny streaks, maybe three or four, that ran from the breast up into the throat.

I have a National Geographic,  a Kenn Kaufman,  and a John Tveten book and I've also checked a R. T. Peterson CD.  It wasn't in any of them.  Please don't tell me I saw an escaped caged bird!  But thanks for any help you can give me.
